HBWC is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to connecting people with nature. Our organisation can protect and enhance our local natural environment only because of the extraordinary work carried out by our volunteers to connect people with nature through sharing knowledge and enthusiasm about the local wetlands. To celebrate their extraordinary effort, we invite you to come along for a picnic that coincides with the Truganina Explosives Reserve Preservation Society Open Day. It’s also an opportunity to celebrate International Volunteers Day, which is on 5 December 2025. If you’ve volunteered with HBWC, please come along, bring a picnic or come for a cuppa and a chat. We’ll provide tea, coffee and a light afternoon tea.
