Wetlands Discovery
Hobsons Bay Wetlands Centre supports guided and self-guided walks around Truganina Park and the Laverton Creek Estuary.
To support walks, we have published:
Wetlands Discovery map with track, distances, significant places and suggested stopping points
Wetlands Discovery volunteer guide manual to support people to take guided walks, including guide notes with interesting facts about what you can see at each stopping point and photos of plants and animals
Wetlands Discovery self-guided walk brochure with the map and high-level stopping point information
Using these materials people can learn about the area, the importance of coastal wetlands to protect biodiversity, all the while boosting their own wellbeing through contact with nature.
To arrange a guided walk for you and your friends, or your organisation, please get in contact with us at info@hobsonsbaywetlandscentre.org.au. Printed Wetlands Discovery self-guided walk brochures can be obtained at HBWC events or by arranging to pick them up using the above email.
We would like to thank the Ross Trust for its significant contribution to the creation of these materials and the Hobsons Bay City Council Make it Happen fund for supporting the inclusion of expert advice into the development of the information.
